Beautiful Bayview Farms is located on James Island, just off Fort Johnson Road. It is minutes from the James Island Connector, which puts historic downtown Charleston and the Medical University of South Carolina only 6 minutes away. Harbor Place is a relatively small, private, cul-de-sac community consisting of 109 homes from condominiums & townhomes to single-family homes with extensive open floor plans. RIVERLAND TERRACE
Popular Riverland Terrace, developed in the 1940s, is James Island's oldest neighborhood. The Terrace is located just 10 minutes west of downtown Charleston along Wappoo Creek and the inland waterway. The neighborhood boasts a public boat landing, Charleston Municipal Golf Course, a playground, five restaurants and numerous antique shops.
Leading into the neighborhood is the historic Avenue of Oaks, consisting of 73 live oak trees believed to be over 100 years old. They once led to Wappoo Hall Plantation on the Stono River. A Civil War fortification known as Fort Pemberton, built in 1862, remains today.
The Terrace consists of approximately 800 homes. Sizes and prices vary greatly. Starter homes of 900 square feet begin at $100,000. Whitehouse Plantation is a charming southern community with beautiful views of the marsh and tidal creek. Large, towering oaks surround some homes. This quaint subdivision is conveniently tucked away in James Island, South Carolina. While being within James Island, Whitehouse Plantation is exposed to five supermarkets, movie theaters, day care and county parks. The James Island County Park has a variety of outdoor activities, such as boating and rock climbing, hiking and fishing. James Island also has country clubs, a variety of golf courses, tennis and restaurants.

I have called and talked with many of the present homeowners, and everyone I talked to loves living here.
There are approximately 150 homes in this community, ranging from 1100 to 1450 square feet, and from $110,000 to $125,000 in price. Many of the homes have wood siding. Some have fireplaces, and most have an attached 1-car garage, unless the garage has been converted into living space. Most of the yards are well-kept. The neighborhood lake reportedly is well-stocked with fish.
Willow Walk is a well-maintained community only minutes from downtown Charleston via the James Island connector. It is also only minutes from Folly Beach and the convenience of shopping, restaurants, churches, medical facilities, schools, parks and a variety of entertainment for the entire family. Nearby James Island County Park offers many fun-filled activities such as boating, rock climbing, hiking, crabbing, fishing and a slide splash. Don't forget to visit the new aquarium which has just recently opened in downtown Charleston, as well as the Spoleto Festival or the fishing pier at Folly Beach.
There is a YMCA close by, and Folly Beach and downtown Charleston are only 10 minutes away. There are many nice churches, restaurants and grocery stores in the area.
