You wanted the owners suite downstairs. You got it.
You wanted a larger garage. You got it.
You wanted an optional bonus room or sunroom. You well, you get the picture.
Centex Homes, in response to changing desires of home buyers, has introduced a new series of floor plans for the modern family.
The series is making its Lowcountry debut at Centexs Moss Creek community in the Grand Oaks subdivision, located off Bees Ferry Road west of the Ashley.
Customers have requested these things, and Centex listens to its customers, said on-site sales agent Mary Rakes. People like what were doing. Weve been busy.
More than two dozen homes have been sold since construction began in May, she said.
A total of 198 one- and two-story homes are planned in Moss Creek, which will have its own pool and clubhouse.
The community is divided into two neighborhoods, Heritage Oaks and a more upscale section called Park Ridge. All homes are built on an elevated slab foundation and come with a two-car garage.
Many lots back up to ponds, wooded areas or wetlands.
Buyers can choose a house in inventory or have one built from an available floor plan.
In Heritage Oaks, homes range from 1,244 to 2,148 square feet and from $144,900 to $183,900. Ten floor plans are available, many with a bonus room option.
Standard features include vinyl siding, 9-foot ceilings, oak cabinets and metal garage doors.
Park Ridge homes range from 1,624 to 3,237 square feet and from $168,400 to $231,900. There are 12 floor plans from which to choose, including some that offer an optional three-car garage. The homes come with all the standard features included in the Heritage Oaks homes, plus additional features such as smooth ceilings and a fireplace.
In both neighborhoods, buy- ers can choose an optional exterior front of brick or stucco instead of vinyl. Other options include a screened porch, sunroom and solid-surface countertops.
The amenity center, located between the two neighborhoods, is under construction.
It will feature a swimming pool, clubhouse and childrens play area in addition to some walking trails. The annual homeowners association fee is $380.
Rakes said Moss Creeks location and competitive prices are worth checking out.
Theres virtually no traffic in the neighborhood, you have easy access to (U.S. Highway) 17 and downtown, she said. Were convenient to shopping, hospitals and parks.
To get to Moss Creek from downtown Charleston, take S.C. Highway 61 (Ashley River Road) toward Summerville.
After passing through the Sam Rittenberg Boulevard intersection, take a left on Glenn McConnell Parkway/Paul Cantrell Boulevard and stay on that until it ends at Bees Ferry Road.
Turn left on Bees Ferry and go a few hundred yards until you see the entrance to Grand Oaks on your right.
Turn right on Grand Oaks Boulevard and follow the Centex signs to Moss Creek, which is about 1.5 miles from the entrance.
The sales office is inside a model home and is open daily. Be sure to ask about specials.
